Topic: How us Americans waste so much seafood annually.

Title: America Waste 2.3 Billion Pounds of Seafood Each Year

Source: Discoverynews.com

Summary: Almost half of our edible seafood is wasted each year. Out of the 4.7 billion pounds, 2.3 is never eaten. 63% of seafood goes bad before it is eaten, and is thrown away.

Reaction: I think after reading this, most people will react in a negative way. I think this is crazy. I think there are ways that we can fix this. I also think that most other people will think this too. This makes me think of how wasteful and how we need to do something about it.

World Impact: Most of the world will probably take this in a negative way. People will try to stop the wasting of all of this food and will make ways to fix it. The world’s oceans would have much more marine life if we did not take these animals out of the oceans and the world will probably say something about this. There are many groups and organizations that will address the issue with this. I think many people will think this is very wasteful and that we can do something about it.

Topic: The hot temperatures worldwide.

Title: August Breaks Heat Record Worldwide.

Source:http://news.discovery.com/earth/global-warming/august-breaks-heat-records-worldwide-150917.htm

Summary:This article is about how all over the world it has higher temperatures than normal. This past August has been the hottest in modern history. They think that it has been very hot because of the increase of temperature in the oceans.

Reaction: I feel like this sounds right because the temperature depends on the temperature of the ocean. This definitely affected me when it happened because I did not want to be outside unless I was in a pool. I feel like it is kind of crazy that I experienced the hottest month of August that has been recorded. I feel like this can cause a debate because some people believe it is because of global warming. Some people believe this is because of the change in temperature in the oceans.

World Impact: This will most likely cause some arguments because some believe in different reasons why this has been the hottest August. This will probably show the world that we need to prepare for next August because 2015 beat the 2014 record for hottest August. This will show people that water problems will happen because the hotter it is the more we need water. The hotter it is the less water we have accessible.  Scientist will probably also study more on this topic to see why this is happening.

Topic: A storm called “El Nino” could possibly be the biggest storm since the 50’s.

Title: 2015 El Nino Could Be One of Strongest Since the 1950’s.

Source: Discorynews.com

Summary: El Nino is a big storm that is one of the biggest since the 50’s. A change in climate happened in the Pacific ocean so it has caused this storm. This storm can last from four to eight months.

Reaction: I think it is kinda crazy how a storm could get this big. I also think it is crazy that one storm could last at least four to eight months. This affects me because it shows me that storms are actually a big factor. The storm itself does not affect me much though because where I am I kinda far away. If I was closer to the storm I think it would affect me more than it does now.

World Impact: This will definitely affect many parts of the world. This will show the world that storms affect our everyday lives. This storm will also mainly affect the parts of the world that it may hit. This will tell the world to prepare for this big storm. El Nino will show the world that storms are very important to pay attention too and that they can change the way we live.
